Back to School

I have being muddling this in my head for the last few days now, whether I should concentrate on my career, or continue to upgrade myself, finish graduate school and embark on my original quest in the field of Law. Well, on Monday I made my decision: graduate school and Law. I filed off my application several weeks ago, January 15 2007, and then last week I received my invitation to apply for the upcoming semester, basically starting classes as soon as possible. I was unaware that I could jump back into classes, (doing a double major) while still working on my current major in Criminology. Because the current economic climate is good, the level of merit needed for executive class positions still requires the highest possible credentials, something greater than a four year degree. So, it looks like I’m going back to the grind. However, I’m going back with having all of my undergraduate work done–I only have one other friend in classes who is in that same position. I could not imagine still doing first and second year classes while doing graduate work! I think the next two years are going to be very fun years, and I’m looking forward to the challenges that lay ahead. Yay–more homework….

  1. Good for you. If you really want to do something it’s a good idea to just go for it. Getting an education and moving ahead are more difficult these days and it’s a shame to miss out on opportunities. I’m at that crossroads right now personally and want to move ahead.

    best wishes on your endeavors.
P.S. Is Colin Yerbury still teaching criminology at SFU?

  3. Hey Tom, that’s great news! Sounds like you’ve put yourself in a great position, and enjoyment, for the next bit.

  5. Roger beat me to it! I was about to say the same thing!
