I was over at NetChick’s web site, and she had just posted this on her blog that challenges you to grab a book and follow these instructs. I always challenge people to read and find books that you want to read.
It was NetChick’s blog that started my road that led to the creation of my humble blog.
* Grab the book closest to you. NOW.
* Go to page 56.
* Find the 5th sentence.
* Write that sentence in YOUR comment.
* COPY these instructions to your blog… Give your readers a chance to play!
* Don’t go looking for your favorite book, or the coolest one you have – just grab the closest one.
So here is the result from my book following these rules:
“When we examine the histories of people of African decent in Western nations, we find that these forms of social control include intents surveillance by law enforcement authorities resulting in increased rates of interactions between police and people of African decent” (Smith, 2002, as cited in Tator & Henry, 2002 p.56).
Tator & Henry, 2002. “Racial Profiling in Canada, the U.S, and the U.K.,” as cited in Racial Profiling in Canada: Challenging the Myth of ‘a Few Bad Apples.’ (Eds) University of Toronto Press. PP. 55-91.
So pLay along: tell me what got when you grabed your book?
