A Hot June Night – I Love It!

Now that is what I am talking about. Finally! A whole day uninterrupted from wind, rain and cold. Yes. It was our first nice day in so long, I cannot even remember?

The CBC weather guy said that this was Vancouver’s first day of 20C plus weather since last October. I just counted that on my fingers and it works out to almost eight months of cold.

I went is did a short walking down to Breay Island along the hiking trails to see nature in full bloom. The vegetation was huge, well probably normal, but being that we had such crappy weather for so long, lots of vegetation was a sight for sore eyes.

However, with such nice weather, comes the little pesky flies who do not hold back when wanting to bite me for a teeny-weeny drop of my blood. I hate them. I got several fly bites tonight. A sign, a very bad sign indeed.

Update June 5 2011:

We did not break the 20C temperature mark as promised. However, we should see it broken today, June 5, 2011. Needless to say, yesterday, and today were great!

  1. hi tom….(and mom)

I am going to try to watch your convocation on line. However they say server space is limited. I will be there at 11:00 sharp. I will cross my fingers that I will find room in cyber land.

So…If I do find space, who would I look for? The old man with the walker hobbling along stage to get his prize  Should I look for the old guy with no hair under the square hat 😛 Would you be the one with the gut sticking out? Should I look for the most wrinkled face on stage – other then the professors? 😎
(I am rolling on my floor in stitches – I am so funny)
Sigh….it’s all fun and games….after all, what are family for.

I can’t wait to see this. And yes, after all is done and said I will give you a cyber hug.

  2. As I type this I know that you are making your way into Surrey for the rest of the ceremony.

I watched the webcast from beginning to end. I seen mom in the white sweater 3 rows behind the Graduates. “Mom, just to let you know, we all in cyber land got a good view of your butt! You were pretty hard not to miss because the webcam was right behind you.” 😛
Tom as for you, well there is nothing that words can say at this time, but I am glad I kept my eyes looking for the old man with the protruding belt line 😆

Anyways, it was a great convocation. I loved the speeches because they were very colorful and entertaining. I was truly inspired.

A great bug hug with no little sister germs attached. I am proud of you “Big Brother.” ❗ ❗

  3. Yay Julia! I’m glad you got to see it. Thanks for watching.

Yes that was Mother. She had a blast.

I should have been easy to point out, I was one of the first rows up on stage. It was done in alphabetical order.

We took tones of photos, and I will post them once I get organised.

Thanks for the cyber hug! Your germs don’t scare me, LOL!
