Two things about today that made it awesome: Chinese new year, and it was a warm sunny day in the middle of a long weekend. Last night I went out with a couple of friends who went to a new years party that ushered in the Lunar New Year, the year of the Snake. I went home just after midnight, so I was in good shape for today. I got out and did my laundry in town this morning, so I was up when the Sun broke through over the horizon–and yes I had my camera with me.
When the Sun lit everything up, it was as if I could feel spring coming, the air was warm, and trees smelled great, and I could see little buds on the bushes in the garden. We are still in the middle of winter. Yes, this could be an early spring–fingers crossed. Here is hoping that it (this warm weather) holds!
A great way to meet people, go to a party that you otherwise would never go to if you were by yourself. I have a very diverse group of friends. The friends that I hung with last night were friends from university, old class mates, so I have not seen them in a while, and I jumped at the opportunity to go out with them and socialize. Socialize we did. I got to do this more often.
