If these flowers are blooming early, by about two weeks as compared to last year, then does this mean that we are heading into an early summer too?
This year seems to be producing a lot more of these poppies than last. Not sure if it is my lawn care technique, or the combination of super soaker rainy days and very warm sunny days, but the bushes seem a lot healthier. I am still waiting for the monster California Poppy bush to bloom, as it seems that I may have twice as many this year–possibly two flowers! The one that sprouted last year was awesome looking.
This is a shot of the Blood Red Rhododendrons (May 7 2014) growing by the house. It seems like it has bloomed late. It is also located in a very shady area, so I am not ruling that out as part of our weather shift this year.
I used my 30mm f2.8 Macro lens for this shot. I can get as close as 6mm to the object I want to focus on with this lens. I love these shots.
The weeds are doing good as well. LOL
