Conquering Terrace Mountain.

We did it! We took the Terrace Mountain challenge, and we made it, walked the entire length of the trail, the circumference at the 600 Metre mark, without any help, on our own. It was growling at times, and we were happy the day was not 30C plus, we had some breezes to help us along the way, and keep the mosquitoes at bay. Suzette lead the way, I followed, so it was at her speed, and she walked hard. so 4 hours later, after almost 5 km of trail, the day ended. My legs a little sore, but in good condition. I would do it again! HAPPY CANADA DAY!

Terrace Mountain is not a hike to be taken lightly, it is very hilly, thus the mountain part. There are places where the ground is nothing but loose rocks, sharp ones at that, and tree roots were you can trip easily.  And you need to look out for bikers, these are mountain bike trails after all, with some trails in the system reserved for hikers. Along the trails are some awesome lookout rest areas were you can soak in the valley from the mountain’s top.

And to my walking partner who really taught me a thing or two about the mountain, my very own Mountain Girl Suzette. She claims not to be bothered with aches of pains from the hike–she has legs of steel.

Then we rested while soaking in the view of Terrace itself. We saw this. There was this little pile of rocks at the view site. These little piles seem to be a signature of Terrace, becuase everywhere we go, we see these.
